A Lodge Grass man suspected of stealing a police car denied federal charges this week in Billings.
Quindell Jordan Bulltail, 25, pleaded not guilty on Thursday to an indictment charging him with depredation of government property and theft of government property.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Lori Suek said in court records that Bulltail stole a Bureau of Indian Affairs police car on Aug. 13, 2014, at Dunmore, on the Crow Reservation, and caused more than $1,000 in damage to the vehicle.
Bulltail faces a maximum 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Carolyn Ostby ordered Bulltail to remain in custody. The case will be heard by U.S. District Judge Susan Watters.
